Penguins and Hearts

We celebrated Hudson’s birthday a few weeks ago. We spent the whole morning making him feel as special as we could!

We had the children cut out pictures of animals from old calendars. They loved this project and enjoyed glueing them on paper and making their own scene.

We spent a week discussing penguins. We played with cardboard blocks and many different types of penguins. We also painted our own penguins at the easel by looking at a stuffed penguin sitting on top of it. They came out very cute!! The children picked names for these penguins. We read many penguin books throughout the week. Here are a few that we read. We pretended that we were the male penguin and held an egg on our feet for 1 minute. We talked about having to do that for 2 months! Lastly, we talked about the different types of penguins. The Macaroni Penguin was definitely the favorite one by far!

We had fun building inside and playing in the snow outside!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day this past week. We made valentine rockets for our families. We also decorated valentine mailboxes to put our own valentines into. We played with pink rice and made heart shaped puzzles. We also read some wonderful valentine stories. We cooked heart shaped cookies and had heart shaped strawberries.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you! Have a wonderful winter break with you families!
