WELCOME

Welcome to our Orange Class. The children have settled in beautifully and we’re excited to share all the fun we’ve been having!

Three of our classroom friends turned four years old this month. We had purple, red, and blue cupcakes.

We used different items from toy cars to sponges, forks, big brushes and little brushes to create art. The children are learning how different tools create different effects, and it is a joy to see their expressions as they squish, roll, and dab their way through color and texture. We love to decorate our classroom with the children’s art work, so it might be a few days before you see it. Don’t forget to check their folders for crafts coming home.

We stamped some fall leaves today and then some children also wanted to paint their hands. Messy hands, busy minds and happy hearts.

We had a fire drill today and when the loud alarm went off in our room, the children knew exactly what to do. They stopped their activities, lined up and calmly walked out of the building with the teachers.

Every week we have a friendly visitor or two join us during circle time. Our first visitor was Clifford, the big red dog. Usually I read a book about our visitor before they make an appearance. We have Biscuit, Mittens, Cow, Hedgie Hedgehog and Pig make an appearance so far. The children are always very excited to meet and sing our hello song but some of our visitors don’t understand English. Ask your children and they can tell you how we greet them.

We also do a few exercises, songs, poems and have some very interesting conversations during circle time.

Enjoy the wonderful weather!
